Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
