۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
