Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
