The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the morning hours 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And found you in need, so made you prosperous? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
