In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
