Say: 'Journey in the land, then behold how was the end of them that cried lies.' 11 Ask thern: 'To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth?' Say: 'Everything belongs to Allah.' He has bound Himself to the exercise of mercy (and thus does not chastise you for your disobedience and excesses instantly). Surely He will gather you all together on the Day of Resurrection - the coming of which is beyond doubt; but those who have courted their own ruin are not going to believe. 12 ۞ And to Him only belongs all whatever exists in the night and in the day; and He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 13 Say thou: Shall I take for a patron any other than Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth! And He feedeth, and is not fed. Say thou: I am commanded that I be the first who submitteth himself, and that: be thou not of the associaters. 14 Say, "I will never disobey my Lord, for I fear the punishment of a dreadful Day." 15 He from whom (such retribution) is averted on that day, (Allah) hath in truth had mercy on him. That will be the signal triumph. 16 If God should let any harm touch you, no one could remove it except He; while if He should let some good touch you, know that He has the power to do all that He wills. 17 He is the Conqueror over His worshipers. He is the Wise, the Aware. 18 Say thou: what thing is the greatest in testimony? Say thou: Allah is Witness between me and you, and this Qur'an hath been revealed unto me that I may thereby warn you and whomsoever it may reach. Would ye indeed testify that there is god together with Allah? Say thou: I testify not. Say thou: verily He is the One God, and I am quit of that which ye associate. 19 Those to whom We have given the Book know this as they know their own sons. Those who have lost their own souls refuse therefore to believe. 20
