So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
