He it is who sendeth down from the heaven water for you, wherefrom is drinking and wherefrom are trees whereas ye pasture your herds. 10 (With this water) He causes corn, olives, palm-trees, vines, and all kinds of fruits to grow. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of understanding. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And He it is who hath subjected the sea that ye may eat thereout flesh fresh and bring forth therefrom ornaments that ye wear. And thou beholdest ships ploughing therein, and it is in order that ye may seek of His grace, and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 God has fixed the mountains on earth lest you should be hurled away when it quakes. Therein He has also made rivers and roads so that you will find your way. 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal. 19 But those whom you invoke, other than Allah do not create anything they are themselves created. 20 dead, not alive; and are not aware when they shall be raised. 21
