When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
