Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Did we laugh at them (for nothing), or our eyes fail to pick them out?" 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
