The believing man said, "My people, follow me and I shall show you the right guidance. 38 O My people! this life of the world is but a passing enjoyment, and verily the Hereafter! That is the Abode of rest. 39 Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account. 40 ۞ My nation, how is it that I call you to salvation and you call me to the Fire? 41 you call me to deny Allah and to associate with Him as His partners those regarding whom I have no knowledge (that they are Allah's partners in His Divinity), whereas I call you to the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving? 42 "Without doubt ye do call me to one who is not fit to be called to, whether in this world, or in the Hereafter; our return will be to Allah; and the Transgressors will be Companions of the Fire! 43 And anon ye shall remember that which I am telling you. And I confide my affair unto God; verily God is the Beholder of His bondmen. 44 So God preserved him from the evil they were planning; and a dreadful doom encompassed the people of Pharaoh: 45 the fire [of the hereafter - that fire] which they had been made to contemplate [in vain,] morning and evening: for on the Day when the Last Hour dawns [God will say,] "Make Pharaoh's folk enter upon suffering most severe!" 46 And when they argue with one another in Hell, the weak will say to the proud: 'We were your followers, will you help us against any share of the Fire' 47 The ones who had dominated them will say, "All of us are now in hell. God has already issued His Judgment of His servants (and no one can change this)." 48 Those in the Fire will say to the warders of Hell: "Ask your Lord to reduce the punishment by a day for us." 49 They will say: came there not your apostles unto you with evidences? They will say: Yea? They will say: supplicate then yourselves. And supplication of the infidels will be but in wandering. 50
