Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
