The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
