The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
