Or do those in whose hearts is a disease, think that Allah will not bring to light all their rancour? 29 Now had We so willed, We could have shown them clearly to you, and then you could have identified them by their marks, but surely you will know them by the tone of their speech! God knows all that you do. 30 And verily We shall try you till We know those of you who strive hard (for the cause of Allah) and the steadfast, and till We test your record. 31 Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah's way and oppose the Apostle after that guidance has become clear to them cannot harm Allah in any way, and He will make null their deeds. 32 O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and do not make your deeds of no effect. 33 ۞ Those who do not believe and obstruct others from the way of God, and die disbelieving, will not be pardoned by God. 34 So do not lose heart or appeal for peace when you have gained the upper hand. God is with you and will never let your works go to waste. 35 The life of this world is but sport and amusement. If you believe and are God-fearing, He will grant you your reward, and will not ask you for your possessions. 36 If He should ask you for them and press you, you would withhold, and He would expose your unwillingness. 37 Ha, there you are; you are called upon to expend in God's way, and some of you are niggardly. Whoso is niggardly is niggardly only to his own soul. God is the All-sufficient; you are the needy ones. If you turn away, He will substitute another people instead of you, then they will not be your likes. 38
