Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
