Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
