Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
