The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
