The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
