Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of four Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-fourth chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
