S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 This is only a small army out of the several armies that will suffer defeat here. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
