Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But save him who fears 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
