The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
