The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 purify your garments; 4 and defilement flee! 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then looked he, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
