'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 And let him share my task 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and may remember You much. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
