The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
