The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
