The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 facing one another. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the people of the right hand 38
