The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or orders piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
