Al-An 'aam 10 of 20
That was Our argument which We gave to Abraham against his people. We raise in ranks whom We will. Truly your lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. 83 And We bestowed upon him Is-haq and Ya'qub: each one We guided. And Nuh We had guided afore, and of his progeny Da-ud and Sulaiman and Ayyub and Yusuf and Musa and Harun. And thus We recompense the well-doers. 84 And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias. Each one (of them) was of the righteous. 85 Ishmael and Elisha, Jonah and Lot-each one We preferred above all beings; 86 And likewise We elected for Our cause and guided on to a straight way some of their forefathers and their offspring and their brethren. 87 This is the guidance of Allah whereby He guideth whomsoever of His bondmen He listeth. And if they had associated, to naught would have come all that they were wont to work. 88 Those are they unto whom We vouchsafed the Book and judgement and prophethood. Wherefore if those disbelieve therein, We have surely entrusted it unto a people who are not disbelievers therein. 89 Those were the (prophets) who received Allah's guidance: Copy the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This is no less than a message for the nations." 90
