Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
