3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 All the people turned away from him 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
