The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
