Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
