The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
