This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
