The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High, 1 who created and shaped, 2 And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. 3 And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture, 4 then made it dry dark, flaky stubble, 5 We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, 6 Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy unto thee the easy way. 8 Therefore remind, if the Reminder profits, 9 He who fears [God] will heed the reminder, 10 But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones, 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islamic Monotheism) shall achieve success, 14 And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. 15 But you prefer the life of this world, 16 even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever. 17 Verily! This is in the former Scriptures, 18 The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa. 19
