Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
