The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
