The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
