۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
