And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 and produced therein grains from which they eat and established therein gardens of palms trees and vineyards and have made streams flow therein 34 So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
