The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
