The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Highly blessed is He, Who has sent down Al-Furqan, to His servant so that it may be a warner to all mankind: 1 He, Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Who did not take to Himself a son, and Who has no associate in the kingdom, and Who created everything, then ordained for it a measure. 2 But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection. 3 The unbelievers say, 'This is naught but a calumny he has forged, and other folk have helped him to it.' So they have committed wrong and falsehood. 4 And they said, “These are stories of the former people, which he has written down, so they are read to him morning and evening.” 5 Say: "The (Qur'an) was sent down by Him who knows the mystery (that is) in the heavens and the earth: verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 Or why has not at least a treasure been sent down for him or a garden given to him for (easy) sustenance?" And the wicked people say, "You are following a man bewitched." 8 See to what they liken thee, [O Prophet, simply] because they have gone astray and are now unable to find a way to the truth]! 9
