The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
