And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
