And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
