۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
