Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
